Main challenges in the care sector

Across Central and Eastern Europe, care workers face low pay, long hours, emotional exhaustion, and limited institutional support. The CEECAW project sheds light on their working conditions and the state of collective bargaining in 12 countries, from Poland to Serbia. This video summarises the project's key findings and explores structural, psychosocial and political challenges in the care sector. From union underrepresentation to burnout and brain drain, we examine what’s at stake – not just for workers, but for the future of care in Europe.
