Fire Tonic Recipe: 2 brown onions, grated 2 carrots, grated 2 apples, grated 2 oranges, sliced 1 lemon, sliced 1 lime, sliced 1/3 cup chopped horseradish root 5 jalapeños ½ cup chopped #turmeric root ½ cup chopped #ginger root 1 head of garlic ½ teaspoon ground black pepper Handful of mint, chopped A few sprigs of thyme A few sprigs of rosemary A few sprigs of oregano 2 litres raw apple cider vinegar with the mother Roughly chop all your ingredients. Place them into a large jar in no particular order. The one I use is a 3 litre capacity Then fill with #applecidervinegar and fasten the lid. *If your lid is a metal one, place a piece of muslin or some paper inside the lid to stop corrosion. Ensure all the fruit and veg is covered with vinegar. Store in a dark place for 4 weeks, and you can cover the jar with a tea towel if you like. Then strain through a sieve lined with muslin, squeeze out all the vinegar inot a jug and add a half a jar of quality honey if you wish. Pour into sterilized bottles and store in the fridge. Play with the quantities that you like. It’s not rocket science! We drink about 20ml every morning and take three doses per day when we are coming down with a cold or facing hayfever season. About One Paddock Farm: Life on acreage in regional Victoria, Australia with Annebelle and Martyn (aka Popcorn) after way too many years of being city people. A life full of garden delights, beloved chickens, tractors and more. Our stuff. We invite you to share what we have found to be interesting and helpful in living this new life. Trial and error. Lessons usually learned the complicated way! Let us know what you'd like to see on One Paddock Farm and we will do our best to help!
