It's been quite a while. I've been busy with a lot of things lately. I have a lot of partially complete tracks but this is the first I've finished in quite a long time. This jazz-inspired song uses just intonation. In particular, it uses only the 2nd, 3rd, and 13th harmonics (the 2.3.13 subgroup). The scale is generated by a certain detempering of 10 EDO called a Fokker periodicity block. These are a particularly nice form of JI scales that can be generated from an equal temperament. They tend to have many useful properties in common with moment of symmetry scales but can exist in higher dimensions. This particular scale consists of two separate Pythagorean-tuned pentatonic scales. They differ by an interval of 18/13. Overall, the scale is: 1, 27/26, 9/8, 243/208, 81/64, 18/13, 3/2, 81/52, 27/16, 729/416, 2/1 I actually used a subset of this scale which excludes 27/26, 81/64, and 81/52.
