Translating the main theme song (片頭曲) "Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountains" (雪山飛狐) from the Flying Fox of the Snow Mountains 1985 (雪山飛狐) into English. Original Cantonese Song by David Lui (呂方) and Susanna Kwan (關菊英). This series was an adaptation of Fox Volant of the Snowy Mountain (雪山飛狐) and The Young Flying Fox (飛狐外傳) novels by Jin Yong (金庸), who is also referred to as Louis Cha in English. So popular is the story that it is actually one of the first Jin Yong novels ever to have an official English translation. It was done by Olivia Monk. TVB adapted this series in 1985 and went all out with a huge cast. Ray Lui (呂良偉) was the main lead actor and was supported by veterans in Patrick Tse (謝賢) and Kenneth Tsang (曾江). Both of whom have appeared frequently in Jin Yong adaptations. Eddie Kwan (關禮傑) played a support role. The female cast included Angie Chiu (趙雅芝), Jamie Chik (戚美珍), Rebecca Chan (陳秀珠), Margie Tsang (曾華倩), Elaine Chow (周秀蘭), and King Doi Yum (景黛音). I quite enjoyed this series as a kid and I took some time to relax and watch the series again prior to translating this song. I highly recommend watching it. The newer adaptations whilst visually stunning, don't quite hit the same mark for me. This song is titled "Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountains" which is also the tiitle for the series and novel. It is a classic and popular wuxia duet between David Lui and Susanna Kwan. The way I translated this song is piecing together a story rather than a literal translation. It doesn't change the meaning or intent of the song. Whereas the song doesn't make much sense in some parts if you did a literal translation. Anyway, enjoy... I am willing to take requests to translate other TVB or wuxia songs in the comments section. Also please subscribe and share with your friends and help grow this channel. The more subscribers, the more songs I'll translate to English! Please Note: It's hard work translating and making videos. If you use my video or translation, please provide a link to my video. Thanks.
