Why are the voices of young people silenced when the future they inherit is on the line? In this powerful TEDx talk, Amalia Mowafy reflects on her early experiences in politics, where their idealism clashed with a system driven by short-term gains. She explores the critical role youth play in addressing urgent issues like climate change, highlighting the need for political education and representation from an early age. With the clock ticking for both the planet and their generation, this talk makes a compelling case for why youth should be heard now, before it's too late. My name is Amalia Mowafy, I am 18 years old and was born and raised in Sweden. The experiences I have accumulated in party politics and policy making has made me realize the significance of our generation in creating a more sustainable future. The ball is in our court. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
