We also show some immersive video footage during a real world road test with 25 motorcycles. When it comes to safety, It doesn’t matter if you’re a solo rider going on a coffee run, or a participant in a large group ride that covers hundreds of miles - situational readiness minimizes crashes! And what better way to improve your situational awareness than to improve your communication capabilities while on the open road. During our road test highlighted here, three of us were connected, which tested the coverage limits when our group was riding single file, and there were long distances between the front and the back of the pack. Cardo’s mesh network worked well, and I can clearly see the importance of having more units within the network to strengthen and stabilize the connections for larger group rides. Our group is full of customized bikes, many of which have loud aftermarket exhaust systems. A bunch of loud exhaust systems coupled with the wind noise at interstate speeds was a bit of a challenge for Cardo’s JPL speakers, but the unit performed well even under these relatively extreme conditions. There are also a number of connection options for Cardo devices, including some level of interoperability with non-cardo devices as well. For the Packtalk Neo, Edge, and Pro units - all of these devices can connect with up to 15 other units.
