Hop aboard for a full-length front window ride on the SkyTrain Expo Line in Vancouver, Canada, filmed from end to end between Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver and Production Way-University Station in Burnaby. This video captures the entire journey from the front window, thanks to the SkyTrain’s fully automated, driverless design that lets passengers sit right up front for the best views! Sit back, relax, and enjoy one of the most iconic automated train rides in North America — with nothing between you and the rails but a window. 🔹 About the SkyTrain System The Vancouver SkyTrain opened in 1985 as one of the world’s first automated rapid transit systems, debuting in time for Expo 86, from which the Expo Line derives its name. Operated without onboard drivers since day one, the system continues to be a global pioneer in driverless transit technology. 🔹 Rolling Stock Highlights Throughout this journey, you'll see and hear various train types that make up the Expo Line fleet: The Mark I cars, from which this video was filmed, were built by the now-defunct UTDC and are the original SkyTrain vehicles and an icon of Vancouver transit. These sleek, compact cars are known for their signature boxy 1980s design, and are slated for retirement in the coming years as the system modernizes with the arrival of the Mark V cars. You'll also spot newer Mark II and Mark III trains, which offer updated interiors and smoother rides, but still run seamlessly alongside the classic Mark Is. 👇 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more immersive front window transit rides from around the world!
