The Centre for Comparative Corporate Finance Law (C3FL) of the University of Vienna organized a conference on legal arbitrage in corporate finance, which took place in Vienna from June 16-17. 2025. The C3FL was delighted to welcome numerous renowned and distinguished legal scholars to this conference, all of whom contributed insightful and thought-provoking presentations on the subject. The event aimed to draw attention to the regulatory differentials among mandatory rules, default rules, and altering rules in corporate finance law across its various doctrinal domains — including contract law, property law and security interest law, capital markets law as well as insolvency law and restructuring law. Tim Florstedt, who is Professor of Civil, Commercial, Economic and Banking Law at EBS University, held a presentation titled "Tax Arbitrage: Lessons Learned from the Cum-Ex Scandal in Germany". We sincerely thank Professor Florstedt for his valuable contribution! More information about Professor Tim Florstedt and his research is available at: https://www.ebs.edu/lehrende/florsted...
