Homeward, Kit and I are booked on an Azuma LNER service from Newcastle to London Kings Cross. We start our return journey from Wylam having been in the Northumberland area for some days exploring the Hadrian’s Wall Trail. We took the local service from Wylam in to Newcastle and made use of the short time, before our Azuma service south, to explore the Quayside along the Tyne in Newcastle and then enjoy a pint in the Old George in town. The Azuma service ran on time and was very comfortable. Our experience was good and would certainly use the service again. Kit pre-booked our reservations week ago and with this the cost was fair. From Kings Cross we used the Tube to cut across to Waterloo for our final hop home on the Basingstoke service.
