So, in today's episode, Nandita will show you how to make a simple yet lip smacking Roasted Onion Chutney, that is bound to be a success. Happy cooking loves! Ingredients: 1. 2 medium onion 2. 1 tsp oil 3. 1 tbsp urad dal 4. 2 dried red chillies 5. 5-6 curry leaves 6. 1 small piece tamarind 7. ½ tsp salt Method: Place the onions on the flame and keep turning occasionally until completely charred from the outside. Remove into a bowl and peel outer layer once cool enough to handle. Chop roughly and keep aside. In a pan, heat oil. Add urad dal, red chillies and curry leaves and fry until dal turns golden brown. Switch off flame. Add tamarind piece and stir well. In a mixer jar, add the chopped onion, fried ingredients, salt and process until you get a coarse chutney. Serve with idlis and dosas. Optional: You can add ½ cup grated fresh coconut while grinding chutney. In that case, increase red chillies by 1.
