Cheap Japanese house makeover on a budget. In this video I share how I make my cheap house in Japan feel cozy and homely with small, affordable changes, simple decor, and meaningful Japanese traditions. When I bought one of the cheapest houses I could find in Japan, I knew it wouldn’t be perfect. But over time I’ve learned something important — a home doesn’t need to be expensive to feel warm and special. In this video I work on three areas of my house: the entrance, the smallest room in the house (the toilet), and my living room. With some cleaning, simple decorating, flowers, and a few thoughtful touches, I slowly transform the space to make it feel more comfortable and inviting. I also share a little about the Japanese tradition of koinobori, the carp streamers flown for Children’s Day. Inspired by this tradition of strength and perseverance, I created a small mindful craft kit you can enjoy at home. 🎏If you’d like to make your own koinobori craft, you can find it here: 👉 https://www.chanijapan.com/the-koinob... Living in Japan on a modest income has taught me that small changes can make a big difference. A house becomes a home through the small things we add along the journey. 人生は旅だ — Life is Journey.
