I bought this Maytag Neptune washing machine and dryer in April 2001. At twenty years old, it started getting progressively noisier over the course of several months. This is a common problem with these machines because the seal which is in charge of keeping water out of the ball bearings eventually wears out. This isn't a how-to guide for the repair, just a demonstration of what it sounds like before and after.
