Part 2 of our Mars Tsunuki Distillery Documentary in Kagoshima, Japan. We follow Tatsuro, the master blender, through the production process from grain to glass. We basically get to lick every part of the process. We try the barley itself, the new make spirit peated and unpeated & sample some casks including the internal scores given by the distillery and how Tatsuro assesses whether a cask is ready for bottling. We highly recommend visiting the distillery and going to the bar on site to be able to try a lot of the Mars whisky previous releases including Local Barley and other variants like Lucky Cat and the Butterfly range.
