This is an 8-minute video of highlights from the May 9, 1970 Major League Baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and the Athletics in Oakland, Calif., won by the Red Sox, 5-3. It is from the WHDH TV in Boston broadcast, with Ken Coleman and Ned Martin on play by play and Johnny Pesky on analysis. Tony Conigliaro breaks a 3-3 tie in the ninth inning with a two-run homer to deep left field off Diego Segui, lifting the Red Sox to victory at the Coliseum. Future Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski hits solo home runs off future HOF-er Oakland starter Catfish Hunter in the fourth and the sixth, and George Scott adds an RBI single in the fourth. Dave Duncan, Bert Campaneris, and Don Mincher all hit solo homers off Sonny Siebert, who goes the distance to improve his record to 3-1. Note: This game has been out there, and I've had it up as part of one big file. But I'm posting all the games individually now. Box score in comments. Not copyrighted. I don't claim the rights to, and don't profit from, this video. I posted it for historical and educational purposes, and for those who will enjoy it as much as I did.
