WORKOUT 5 Rounds 15 Toes to Bar One Max-Rep Set Dumbbell Bench Press OR Deficit Push Up Rest 1 Minute Between Rounds Toes to Bar Options: 15 V-Up OR Weighted Sit Up SUGGESTIONS Men: 40# DBs Women: 25# DBs EXTRA CHALLENGE Men: 50# DBs Women: 35# DBs SCORE(S) Total Time Biggest Set Smallest Set GOAL(S) Time: 9-14 Minutes Biggest: 15-20 Reps Smallest: 8-12 Reps COACHES NOTES Nothing like a little pull (toes to bar) and push (bench press or push up)! Today’s goal is to channel your inner Axel Foley - smooth under pressure, sharp when it counts, and always ready to turn up the intensity right when things get tough. You’re aiming to push near failure without actually hitting full failure. Each round should leave you with a couple reps in the tank but still feel like a hard effort - in other words, the pump should be real. If you can, go unbroken on your toes to bar. Even hitting it for the first round or two is a win. If that can't happen, break them up, but keep your rest short and intentional. Adjust as needed to kipping knee raises, hanging knee raises, or v-ups/weighted sit ups. Fifteen toes to bar shouldn't take longer than 60 seconds. On the bench press, choose a weight that lets your biggest set hit around 20 reps, and no fewer than 8 reps as fatigue builds. These should be near max-effort sets with the last 2-3 reps feeling like a grind. If you're concerned about what weights to use, play around in your warm up and experiment with some heavier weights. The last thing you'll want is to go too heavy or even too light! If you've under- or overestimated yourself, you can always adjust weight during your rest.
