Mortal Kombat Conquest Season: 1 Episode: 6 Title: Quan Chi Brief plot description: There is an evening festival in Sun Do. Li Mei and Kung Lao decide to stay late, while Raiden returns home early because he is going to get up early for the temple. Li Mei and Kung Lao hear screams coming from an alley. There they see two demonesses, Ashra and Sareena, mocking a young couple. Sareena slits their throats. Li Mei fights Ashra, and Kung Lao fights Sareena. They win and the demonesses evaporate. Li Mei recognizes the dead and says that she has repeatedly bought flowers from the boy's mother at the market. The demonesses are scolded by a sorcerer named Quan Chi in his abode. And if Sareena is completely devoted to him, then Ashra is visited by doubts. She remembers how Raiden worried about his friends when he was looking for a cure for old age. Human emotions are something new and unusual for her. Quan Chi plans to corrupt the souls of Raiden, Kung Lao, and Li Mei and makes a special potion for this purpose. He orders Sareena and Ashra to make them drink it or else a drop of the potion enters their systems in some other way. The next morning, Raiden goes to the Fire Temple, Li Mei goes to the flower seller, and Kung Lao goes to the bar. Li Mei does not find the seller behind the counter. Instead, Sareena is there in disguise. She says that her mother is grief-stricken and is preparing for the funeral of her son. Sareena gives Li Mei a free rose and Li Mei cuts her finger on a thorn soaked in the potion. Kung Lao is drinking at the bar. Ashra, disguised as a waitress, pours the potion into his glass of beer. On the way to the temple, Raiden meets Sareena. He does not recognize her because he has never seen her before. She is lost in the forest and asks for directions to Sun Do. As if by accident, she scratches Raiden's shoulder, thus injecting Quan Chi's potion into his blood. The deed is done. In the evening, Li Mei brings home a random acquaintance to sleep with him and finds Kung Lao and his student Thomas drunk. Kung Lao throws Li Mei's friend out the door and she leaves the house. An angry Raiden returns. He received the largest dose of the potion, so his appearance has changed and become more demonic. He quarrels with Kung Lao, calling him a worthless drunkard unworthy of the champion title, and they fight. Raiden kills Thomas and seriously wounds Kung Lao. Liu Kang appears and Raiden escapes to the Fire Temple. Liu Kang bandages Kung Lao's wound and goes looking for Li Mei. He finds her in a brothel. She does not want to go with him at all, and Liu Kang has to teleport her to Kung Lao. Seeing that Kung Lao is in bad shape, Li Mei comes to her senses and the potion wears off. Liu Kang guesses whose doing this is and finds Ashra in the back alleys of Sun Do. He threatens to turn her to dust with the power of thought and she confesses that Quan Chi is behind everything and that she is forced to serve him, although lately she feels that she wants to go her own way. She confesses that Raiden has the largest dose of the potion and that only one amulet can save him. Ashra deceives Sareena and takes the amulet from under her nose. Liu Kang appears with the amulet in the Fire Temple, where Raiden is killing the monks. Liu Kang throws a fireball at him and with the help of the amulet returns him to his previous state and appearance. He says that Quan Chi wants to subjugate him, since he is the champion of the Earthrealm. And if Raiden continued to kill, his soul could be forever corrupted, and thus Quan Chi would gain complete control over him, as he once did over Ashra. Quan Chi, thinking that he has won, moves to the Fire Temple, but to his surprise, Raiden is no longer under his control and has the amulet. In battle, Raiden defeats Quan Chi, and he has no choice but to retreat. Ashra appears and thanks Liu Kang for opening her eyes. She wants to find her way and heal from the filth that the necromancer sowed in her. Raiden gives her the amulet, as it will be easier to do this with it.
