Join me on an intense and emotional journey to the summit of a remote mountain, peak 941 where history stands frozen in time. On November 10th, 1944, at roughly 3:30 AM, a Canadian WWII B-24 Liberator aircraft tragically crashed into this mountain during a nighttime training mission. All 10 brave airmen aboard perished on impact and were laid to rest near the crash site-a solemn reminder of their ultimate sacrifice. This challenging hike led me through rugged terrain and poorly marked trails to the scattered wreckage, a haunting yet powerful tribute to these fallen heroes. Pieces of the aircraft are strewn across the mountain, a stark visual of the impact that ended their mission and lives in an instant. I felt a sense of sadness and loss atop the unnamed mountain, I returned a changed person with a deeper respect for service men and woman. Thank you for your service to Canada Follow along as I navigate this difficult trail, pay my respects, and uncover the dark story behind this wartime tragedy.
