Merry Christmas to @GXAuraOfficial , all the AuRangers, and everyone who watched this video. This is my Christmas present for you. Please enjoy, a music box version of Aura's Ending BGM, Sleepy Neon Room~ although the arrangement is intended to be outside in the nature looking at the stars in the sky. Oh and also, this arrangement is also loopable, I will upload the 30 mins version later. Original song: • 【フリーBGM】まどろむネオンの部屋 / NEKOZOU Instrument: Speldosa (Swedish Music Box) by @Klevgrand and @Wintergatan . =================================================== The feelings that I want to express in this music is specifically "Sitting in the fields by myself in the middle of a cold night, looking at the stars, glad that I have finally found my hope, but still very tired from all the previous problems that has passed". Yes, very specific. If you know me well, you know what happened to me during 2018-2023 (especially in 2023) and how my kamioshi, GX Aura, saved my life. This song me expressing my gratitude for her and everything that she has done to my life. I think I successfully pulled that off with this song. =================================================== Short music theory section! Here's the reason why I can express that super specific feeling 1. Changing the key to B Major. It has this, grief, sorrow, yet also hope. The best way to describe it is an "acceptance" kind of feeling. Accepting that I have moved on from my sorrow, and facing my future to support my kamioshi. 2. Tons of reharmonization again, as usual. This one is super hard compared to Tides, because the original song is already have those jazz chords. So, if I want to reharmonize it and still have those "cool" sounds, I have to come up with funky chords as well, which I think I did okay. I definitely learned a lot. I am very proud with the outro. That chord progression is so nasty, but it makes the conclusion satisfying. It's truly a conclusion. 3. As I want to release this song for Christmas, it also has those "Christmasy" chords (idk how to explain). It also helps with the feeling of "cold". 4. I added those starry thingy, whatever that is, so it's clear that I am outside looking at the night starry sky. I don't know how to explain it better. Just ask me if you want to know what decision I made while arranging this song. What I can tell you is that, every single note there is 100% intentional to be there, and it serves a purpose. This one is super hard to write, there is just way too many things going on at once. My head really hurts. This is my last piece of 2024. I made 10 pieces in 2024, and 3 of them just from December. Stay tune for more music in 2025!
