Prayer to Apollo 1:38 Feast of Bacchus Guilherme on his composition: Prayer, celebration, deities, landscapes, Greece, Brazil… In essence, images that form a multicultural tableau. The deeper meaning of each element is translated into sound, not through the human voice or that of animals, but through the strings of a guitar. Composing this piece was both a true challenge and a source of great enthusiasm: I mapped out what I knew of both countries. By identifying their commonalities, I was able to decipher their unique features, which gave birth to new modes, agogics, forms, and, to my great surprise, melodies. The vast art of organizing sound corresponds, in my view, especially in this piece, to the quest and embodiment of devotion, faith, friendship, and most importantly: love.
