KITHARA FULL ALBUM https://album.link/kithara Four extracts from Benoit Mussard's composition Gods of Olympus written for the "Kithara" album. 0:00 Prelude 1:44 Athena and Ares 3:50 Hades 6:22 Hermes and Dionysus Benoit Mussard on his composition: I composed a suite of six miniatures, preceded by a prelude, focusing on the relationships and antagonisms of the gods of Mount Olympus. I used the guitar as a chameleon instrument, mimicking both the bow of Apollo and Artemis with its strings, as well as the sounds of the ancient lyre. The universe extends into the folk culture of Greece, with popular dances (such as Kalamatianos, whose origins trace back to Antiquity). Coming from the Island of Réunion myself, I facilitated this encounter between Creole and Greek heritages, drawing parallels between the instruments that surrounded me (such as the kora) and the popular instruments of Greece (like the bouzouki). Finally, the various scenes or episodes follow one another in a symbolism and poetry that immediately immerse us in the world of minimalist and impressionistic music.
