McLaren-Design, international exhibitions and awards; wilderness, arts and sustainability -- how does that work together? The renowned artist and activist Timo Wuerz uses colors, canvas and speech to suggest a future worth living. For him, for us and for one world -- it's all about the necessity of a personal and unselfish hero's journey. Activism in color! The "rock star of the comic-scene" (Süddeutsche Zeitung) is simultaneously problem-solver and "butt-saver". In order to do this he leads creative teams for the development and design of films, shows and theme parks. His work can be seen in international galleries and several museums. He also has some international awards. Furthermore he works on projects relating to sustainability, protection of environment and species - a concern that has been close to his heart for many years. One of his projects has just been honored by the UNESCO. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
