This Monthly LabCoP ECHO Session focuses on service-level agreements for molecular-based testing and the PEPFAR experience. Optimizing the management of procurement and supply chain in the medical sector is critical. When healthcare providers procure through an optimized supply chain, they enjoy lower costs, enhanced revenues, and, most importantly, are able to provide uninterrupted quality care. In this session, delivered in collaboration with USAID’s Global Health Supply Chain, Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project, we share PEPFAR’s experience in establishing molecular instrument-based service-level agreements (SLAs) with global diagnostics manufacturers for viral load and early infant diagnosis (VL/EID) testing. The presentation takes us through the concept of the all-inclusive reagent rental model, essential elements of the SLAs, and key lessons learned through nearly five years of SLA implementation in numerous PEPFAR-supported countries. Presenters: • Jason William, Technical Laboratory Lead, GH/OHA/SCH USAID Washington • Yulia Johansen, Global Viral Load Team Lead, GHSC-PSM project • Fadzai Marange, Senior Diagnostics Advisor, GHSC-PSM project
