Central To Our Lives Acts 17:1-15 Act 17:1 NKJV - Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. Act 17:2 NKJV - Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, Act 17:3 NKJV - explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ." 2Pe 1:16 NKJV - For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 2Pe 1:17 NKJV - For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." 2Pe 1:18 NKJV - And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. 2Pe 1:19 NKJV - We have a more sure prophetic word, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 2Pe 1:20 NKJV - knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 2Pe 1:21 NKJV - for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Act 17:4 NKJV - And some of them were persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading women, joined Paul and Silas. Act 17:5 NKJV - But the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some of the evil men from the marketplace, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. Act 17:6 NKJV - But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, "These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. Act 17:7 NKJV - "Jason has harbored them, and these are all acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another king--Jesus." Act 17:8 NKJV - And they troubled the crowd and the rulers of the city when they heard these things. Act 17:9 NKJV - So when they had taken security from Jason and the rest, they let them go. Act 17:10 NKJV - Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. Act 17:11 NKJV - These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. 1 Thess. 2:13 - For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe. Act 17:12 NKJV - Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men. Act 17:14 NKJV - Then immediately the brethren sent Paul away, to go to the sea; but both Silas and Timothy remained there. Act 17:15 NKJV - So those who conducted Paul brought him to Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him with all speed, they departed. Eph 5:26 NKJV - that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, Psa 33:6 NKJV - By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. Jas 1:21 NKJV - Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. Jas 1:18 NKJV - Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. Rom 10:17 NKJV - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 1Pe 1:23 NKJV - having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, Mat 4:4 NKJV - But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' " Psa 78:1 NKJV - …Give ear, O my people, [to] my law; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. Psa 138:2 NKJV - I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. Psa 119:9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Psa 119:11 NKJV - Your word I have hid
