Building Regulations Approved Document O Overheating CPD webinar by CIBSE West Midlands region - M&E building services seminar by CIBSE West Midlands region James Healey is the Acoustics Director at AESG and an industry specialist in acoustics, ventilation and over heating. James is a highly skilled acoustic consultant with over 18 years experience and is a principal author of the Acoustics, Ventilation and Overheating Guide which is now referenced in Approved Document O. James is also part of the same group of principal authors who are providing guidance on how to produce assessments compliant with the regulation. Susie co-founded Inkling, a building physics consultancy in 2011. Her core skills are in using dynamic thermal simulation tools to predict the operational energy and thermal performance of buildings. She deploys these skills creatively and intelligently to enable more informed design decisions and better buildings. Susie has become an expert in the field of predicting overheating in homes; she was a lead author on CIBSE TM59 Design methodology for the assessment of overheating risk in homes, and now referenced by Part O within the Building Regulations, the one-page early design stage GHA tool published in 2019, and supported the more recent retrofit version (currently in beta-release). She is a lead author on the imminent Future Homes Hub compliance guide for Part O, and is also working with other authors on proposals for an update to TM59 for which research is currently being undertaken by Loughborough University. She regularly speaks, and writes blogs and articles on the topic of assessing and mitigating overheating risk. Inkling is Building Physics consultancy working to help make buildings more comfortable and energy efficient. The Inkling USP is our communication skills; we work hard to collaborate with our clients, listening to what they want to achieve within all the constraints of planning, legislation and budget. / susiediamond / inklingllp Sam Potter is the Design Director at Reef Group and Architecture Director at UrbanR, Reef’s in-house design studio.
