Maple donuts Dough: 2/3 cup warm whole milk 1/4 cup sugar 2 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast 2 egg yolks (room temp) 1/4 cup oil 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2- 2 1/2 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon salt In a stand mixer add in warm milk, sugar and yeast. Let sit about 5-10 minutes until yeast is bloomed. Whisk in egg yolks, oil and vanilla Add in flour and salt (staring with 2 cups flour) then add just just enough until the dough is really soft. You might not add the whole rest of the 1/2 cup. kneed for 8-10 minutes. Let rise until double in size about 1-2 hours. Once risen, roll and shape donuts Let rise again for about 30 minutes Heat oil in Dutch oven to 375 and fry until golden on both sides. Dip in maple glaze. Maple glaze: 4 tablespoons butter 1/3 cup maple syrup 1 heaping cup powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla In a saucepan lightly brown the butter. Take off heat, and whisk in the rest of the ingredients.
