ANZA-BORREGO DESERT State Park (California)

A week after fires ripped through the Los Angeles communities of Altadena and Pacific Palisades, we leave town on a previously planned three day trip to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. After breathing so many day's worth of toxic air and trying to help in ways we could, it brings us a great deal of relief to find some clean oxygen and get away for even a short time. We are immediately charmed by the small town of Borrego Springs, California, take some hikes in the park, and explore the metal sculptures scattered around the valley. We also are here during the off season, and our lovely mid-century modern hotel is basically ours for two nights.    / @californiastateparks
