At the end of January 2026, both the regular Pokémon TCG and Pokémon TCG Pocket have come out with new sets: Ascended Heroes and Fantastical Parade. Both have a light theme on the Kalos region, both having characters and Mega Evolutions from X and Y, though only Ascended Heroes pulls from Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Probably by coincidence, both sets also have a card for Obstagoon. Due to the ease of getting the cards you need from Pokémon TCG Live, I currently have three decks I made using cards from the Ascended Heroes expansion: “Garden of Delights” (Erika), “Refrain from Assuming” (Mega Froslass ex) and “Outlaw of the Land” (Mega Scrafty ex). I intend to have some of them up next week, and I have some more planned as well. It is a lot more difficult to obtain specific cards from Pokémon TCG Pocket due to its nature as a gacha game, so I don’t have any quite yet, but I do have some ideas I hope to implement. Type: Single Battle Opponent: Damian Battle Court: Blueberry Academy Music: Carmine My Pokémon: Alexandria (Ampharos), Wilbur (Oinkologne) (Male), Carver (Veluza) Opponent’s Pokémon: Primarina, Thundurus (Incarnate), Enamorus (Incarnate) In part due to the difficulties of obtaining Enamorus, available in only one game (Pokémon Legends: Arceus) and one app (Pokémon HOME), both of whom require enormous amounts of effort and the latter requiring the former anyway, she is a Pokémon I see a lot less often than the other three Forces of Nature from Unova: Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus. Competitively, she is also considered a step down from the other three, though that is why she is in the Magmortar Team. I use the Therian Forme, while my opponent’s team uses the Incarnate Forme (and is the only form of Enamorus seen in the card game so far). I forgot that Enamorus in her Incarnate Forme has Contrary, though I didn’t directly affect that—instead, they used Superpower to raise Attack and Defense until Oinkologne’s Lingering Aroma overrode it. I actually picked Oinkologne expecting my opponent to pick Koraidon, seeing it in their lineup. Oinkologne is a highly unconventional counter to Koraidon (if it isn’t clear, it’ll be demonstrated in Friday’s video, which begins with Oinkologne vs. Koraidon), though that was not the intent when initially designing this team. Of course, my opponent did not pick Koraidon and instead chose three special attackers, whereas Oinkologne is best suited to fight physical attackers.
