Hello fellow stitchers 💕 I’m Cher Johnston, welcome to my happy place. In today’s video, I’m working in my 2026 Crazy Quilt Stitch Book, just for the joy of it. This session is all about slowing down, getting out of my head and into my hands, and figuring out a seam stitch that completely baffled me until I finally pulled the book apart and solved the mystery. I’m stitching a crossed buttonhole–style seam worked in two sections, then embellishing it with detached chain leaves, oyster stitches, spider web roses, colonial knots, and tiny pearl beads. This is very much a real-time, real-thoughts kind of video — mistakes, problem-solving, cats interrupting, and all. I’m also stitching with hand-dyed threads from Sherry Iris, which I absolutely adore (not sponsored — just genuine love).
