“Boast in the King” is a 60’s-style rock-n-roll gospel track built around Jeremiah 9:23–26 and 1 Corinthians 1:26–31. With jangly guitar, walking bass, and handclap rhythm, the song declares that wisdom, might, and riches are not our boast—knowing Yahweh is. Through storytelling verses, it recounts being called at nine years old, Moses at the burning bush, Hannah dedicating Samuel, Peter’s life-changing catch in Luke 5, and Nathanael under the fig tree in John 1. From a full preterist perspective, the Cross finished the work, the victory stands secure, and believers live without fear of the adversary. The message rings clear: we are saved to glorify God—so boast in the King! Full Lyrics Intro (Handclaps + Guitar Riff) Yeah now— Don’t boast in your wisdom! Don’t boast in your might! If you’re gonna boast, Boast in the Lord tonight! Verse 1 Preacher read from Jeremiah, Said, “Hear what Yahweh say— Let not the wise man boast in wisdom, Let not the strong man brag his way. Let not the rich trust all his gold, It fades like yesterday— But boast in this, that you know the Lord, Who walks in righteous ways.” He shows lovingkindness on the earth, Justice shining bright, “For in these things I delight,” Declares the Lord of light. Chorus (Call & Response Style) Boast in the King! (Boast in the King!) Not in anything! (Not in anything!) Christ our wisdom, righteousness, Our holy everything! The Cross said, “It is done!” The victory’s been won! Through every high and low we sing— We boast in the King! Verse 2 (Storytelling Groove) I was nine years old one night, When He called my name. Saw my sin so clear and plain, But mercy came like flame. Life ain’t always easy, Had sunshine, had rain— But I’ve been walking with my Savior Ever since that day. Moses ran for forty years, Thought his hope was gone— Then fire burned on desert ground, And God said, “I am the One.” Hannah prayed and Samuel heard, “Speak Lord, I will serve!” God takes the weak and lifts them up, His glory to preserve. Chorus Boast in the King! (Boast in the King!) Not in anything! (Not in anything!) God chose the weak to shame the strong, So no flesh glory bring! No adversary fear, His Kingdom’s already here! Through every high and low we sing— We boast in the King! Bridge (Breakdown – Snare & Bass Driving) Peter fished all night long, Caught not a single thing— Jesus said, “Cast out again,” Though it seemed crazy to him. “At Your word,” he dropped that net, Fish filled up the sea! He fell down crying, “Lord depart, I’m sinful—woe is me!” But he saw more than fish that day, He saw the Word made real— “Who do you say that I Am?” The Christ—God’s holy seal! Verse 3 (Bright, Climactic) Nathanael under fig tree shade, Heard the Master say, “Before you came, I saw you there,” And doubt just ran away. “Rabbi, You’re the Son of God! The King of Israel!” “Heavens opened—you will see Where angels rise and dwell.” Greater things fulfilled in time, Prophets’ words complete— The Cross sealed up redemption’s plan, And placed all at His feet. Final Chorus (Big Harmonies) Boast in the King! (Boast in the King!) Lift everything! (Lift everything!) He delights in steadfast love, In justice that He brings! Through good days and the hard we cling, To Christ our everything! Sons and daughters shout and sing— We boast in the King! Outro (Handclaps + Vocal Shout) Yeah now— Not in wisdom! Not in might! We boast in the Lord tonight! Fade out with harmonies: “Boast… in the King…”
