Thanks for tuning in to this week’s Drums By Liz lesson! Thank you for all the continued support, subs, comments, likes and shares!! I truly appreciate what all you fellow drummers and viewers do to help the algorithm push my content onward and upward!! Maybe with your help, I can get over 10K subscribers soon to help even more drummers!!! ✨🙏🏻🌟🥁👍💯❤️ In this week’s Drums By Liz lesson, I demonstrate and explain how to play a 16th note halftime groove. We will explore playing 4 measure phrases and 2 measure phrases. Each phrase will use a half measure fill-in. Please feel free to explore longer phrasing and full measure/4 beat fill-ins. This week’s groove has a little “question and answer” between the bass line and snare line. It will challenge you to get good at feeling a quarter note triplet that spreads out over 2 beats in each measure. These are commonly used popular rhythms. Also for more options, please visit last week’s post (June 14, 2024 #112) for a variety of ways to play 8th note halftime grooves. Remember to combine straight time grooves with half time grooves. Quiz yourself, and make sure you can have quick recall both ways. Get good at “shifting on the fly” with this concept. Explore and have fun! Keep moving onward and upward. All of these concepts and growths are infinite, just like our ability to be creative is. Please remember I teach online and if you have any interest, reach out to me at DrumsByLiz.com or text/call me at (716) 432-6117. I’d love to help you expand your knowledge, creativity and skill on this most unique and amazing instrument! Thanks again for tuning in to another Drums By Liz lesson! As Always, Happy Drumming!😊🥁🌟💯🙏🏻❤️
