Yet more submerged monuments have been found off the coast of Brittany in France. Several massive stone walls and other features were discovered by a retired geologist analysing LiDAR data in 2017. Five years later archaeological dives began which mapped the structures and examined their architecture. Now a new paper has been published which discusses the features in more detail. The earliest ones date back around 8,000 years when the sea level was lower and use complex construction techniques including reinforced monoliths. They are characteristic of a transitional time when Mesolithic maritime hunter-gatherers were starting to develop a more sedentary lifestyle. In this video I discuss what these structures were likely used for and how they were dated. #ancient #ancienthistory #neolithic ✨ IN THIS EPISODE 01:05 Brittany’s Megalithic Monuments 02:28 Ile de Sein Submerged Structures 06:24 Structure and Function of the Features ✨ JOIN MY CHANNEL / @megalithhunter ✨ OTHER VIDEOS MENTIONED Brittany's Many Submerged Megalithic Structures • Brittany's Many Submerged Megalithic Struc...
