The level crossing has road narrowings on each side of it, and the road around it can become very congested with traffic especially in between lowerings of the barriers. Both alarms are found on the same side of the road opposite each other here, and a single pedestrian light provides warning of the level crossing activating to one of the platforms here. The current set-up featuring lifting barriers replaced manual gates in early 2019 at this location, and one of its four barriers is unusually short. Rather unusually, the level crossing's main control pedestal is at the bottom of the stairs up to it once used to go between the box and working the gates for approaching trains, and this is due to one of the four pillars of the signal box obstructing views of the level crossing. This is also quite a high-risk location for misuse, and several cameras have also been fitted to the outside of the box to catch this. A selection of Friday Afternoon local services feature in these videos. Train details sourced from: Real Time Trains: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/sear...
