Lima - Two days taking in the highlights

After the Exodus tour came to an end, we changed hotels for our last two days, three nights. We are, two couples from north east England and our Canadian friend Robin from Vancouver. We start by taking a walk around the area where we surprisingly met some two weeks earlier, after the two year secret between Keith & Robin was exposed accidentally! We then decided a tour bus would get us to see a lot in the shortest time. The highlight of this tour was the main square Plaza Mayor de Lima. We walked through the main thoroughfare to end up at the Convent of Santo Domingo. An amazing place that has survived particularly well, considering the earthquakes that this area suffers from. The next morning we take a stroll through the streets of central Lima to arrive at the archaeological site of Huaca Pucllana where we have a guided exploration of the massive adobe brick pyramid built in pre Incan times. After this, we chill out in the hotel before celebrating Robin's birthday with the wonderful staff at our hotel. Finally we leave the next morning for our long journey back home.
