60 Second Cinematography - Neon Noir Diner Scene

For this shoot we were using the Blackmagic Design URSA 12k as part of a big shoot over 4 nights with LOTUS cars. This scene was filmed at Mollies Diner which provided us with the exact vibe I was after. Lighting was mostly implied to be coming from a large red neon sign outside, though in practice this was of course a couple of HMI’s and red gel! The headlight gag was created with a couple of Broncolor F160 leds with the standard reflectors on, this allowed us to have a simple controlled way of making it look like a car was driving past which was important to the narrative.
