Enjoy The Quiet Alignment A drink meant to unfold slowly, revealing balance rather than spectacle. Ingredients • 1½ oz pear eau-de-vie • ½ oz dry fino sherry • ½ oz chamomile–honey syrup (2:1 chamomile tea to honey) • ¼ oz fresh lemon juice • 2 drops saline solution (10% salt to water) • 1 small strip of lemon peel • 1 edible chamomile flower (optional) Method 1. Chill a small coupe thoroughly. 2. In a mixing glass with ice, add the pear eau-de-vie, sherry, chamomile–honey syrup, lemon juice, and saline. 3. Stir gently for 20–25 seconds, aiming for silkiness rather than dilution. 4. Strain into the chilled coupe. 5. Express the lemon peel over the surface, discard, and garnish with the chamomile flower if using. Why it evokes beauty • The pear spirit provides clarity without sweetness. • Fino sherry adds structure and quiet depth. • Chamomile introduces calm, not perfume. • Saline sharpens perception rather than flavor. Nothing dominates. Each element exists fully, and together they create a sense of rightness that lingers just long enough to invite reflection.
