As soon as I walked into the woods I knew it was going to be the perfect day to be doing this. Take the time to look at the trees, the foliage, the rock walls and outlines of the mountains in the background. The breeze is warm, the sun is shining and the tempetkres are perfect. This is old colonial New England ground and I am out working on a history mystery and using my Tekentics G2+ metal detector to help me out. The story goes that a settlers landed on this piece of land back in the 1700s and built a temporary shelter until building his proper house. Reading the landscape history I walked for hours along the rock walls seeing the improved land . It has been deserted and abandoned since the 1800s but there is no doubt this was a long ago worked farm. These early American settlers changed the landscape in a lot of ways but the stone walls really showcase that fact. I think I found the location because the ground was loaded with old square nails and several iron relics. Sometimes they is not a lot of stuff left behind in the ground and it only takes digging a couple of things to know. Please enjoy this perfect autumn NH day exploring and relic hunting.
