(WARNING: The audio in this video is that of a live football game, and as a result will contain bad language) NWCFL First Division North Droylsden FC 2 - 0 Squires Gate FC ATT: 515! ---------- 0:00 Intro 3:25 1st Half kicks off 5:26 1-0 BLOODS! Nellson Van! 8:05 2-0 BLOODS! Nellson Van! 10:48 Half Time 11:19 2nd Half kicks off 20:00 Full Time 21:01 Outro ---------- Droylsden got back to winning ways with a good performance against a decent Squires Gate side. However, the result was somewhat marred by an injury to Squires Gate Goalkeeper Joel Sargeant. The Bloods got off to a good start, and applied early pressure to the Squires gate goal, but it was the visitors who went closest to breaking the deadlock, with a Dean Ing cross goal effort going narrowly wide. Follwing this effort, Droylsden went up another gear, and in the 21st minute took a deserved lead, with the in-form Nellson Van scoring his 3rd goal of the season, following some fantastic play between Kyle Campbell and Caelan Kilheeney. A ball out of the back from Manu Ogorogbe found Campbell with his back to goal, who laid the ball off for Killer, and his inch-perfect first time through ball fell to Van, who slotted it past Squires Gate 'Keeper Sargeant's near post. Moments later, the Bloods felt like they should have had a penalty, as Killer was seemingly pushed to the ground inside the box, but the referee waved play on. In the 34th minute, Nellson Van double his, and the home side's goal tally, with another well taken finish. The fantasic Kyle Campbell dispossessed the Squires Gate centre back, and with Van in acres of space on the left hand side, played him thorough on goal, with Nellson this time electing to go across the Goalkeeper, and slotted the ball into the far corner, as the Bloods went into the break 2-0 up. With less than 10 minutes of the second half played, a collision between Joel Sargeant and Substitute Luke Harris ends up with the Squires Gate 'Keeper require extensive treatment after a blow to the head, with the referee stopping the game for 30 minutes, whilst paramedics dealt with the injury. (We since received the fantastic news from Squires Gate that Joel suffered no significant injury, and should be back in goal for them soon). Following the lengthy delay, the game understandably struggled to find any flow, as the remaining 35+ minutes fizzled out with just half chances for both teams. The Bloods next game is a trip to the Ginge Power Stadium to play Daisy Hill on Friday 22/8, whilst Squires Gate have a FA Vase 1st Qualifying Round tie at Home against Tadcaster Albion.
