Came here in 2015 and filmed this • Hammerton Level Crossing Back then it had lighter weight wooden gates which were then replaced with a metal gates maybe taken from elsewhere as they had space to fit a supporting wheel which wasn't needed here. In the last year those gates went and these new wooden gates were fitted. They are unusually chunky and must be heavy. One of the posts they hang from has a cable supporting it anchored by a field and the other has been replaced with a stronger steel girder. Passenger numbers have increased considerably from 34 to 58 a day on average since I was last here. The friendly wave from the signaller probably helps.
