It's really important to not strain when doing a poo as it stretches your pelvic floor and over years of pooing incorrectly you can weaken these structures which are very important for supporting your pelvic organs. In this video I'll show you the right position to make pooing as easy as possible. First, you put your feet up on a small stool and lean forward on your thighs with your forearms. Relax your belly and widen your waist by pushing out with your side muscles, all the while, keeping the front of your tummy relaxed. Repeat this pump action a few times to get things started then once you have started pooing, hold the brace and keep breathing. Do a few more waist widening pumps to make sure you are empty. Once finished, tighten and lift your pelvic floor so body knows you're done. It'll take you a few weeks of practising this new technique until it comes easily but persist because it is worth the effort to support your pelvic floor.
