The most common signs of having a fuel capacity issue are energy crashes, difficulty with stable energy during exercise, decrease in coordination or an increase in clumsiness, ratchety or dysrhythmic movement, and chronic pain. The pain you experience is the type of pain that floats from one body part to another - we call this a "wack-a-mole" pain presentation. This video unpacks the crucial signs that your body might not be using fuel effectively, leading to decreased performance, increased pain, and a decline in overall health. Learn why the concept of fuel is foundational to achieving your health and performance goals. You're going to learn a drill called bag breathing. The goal with bag breathing is to improve your CO2 tolerance. The idea is that a low CO2 tolerance interferes with gas exchange at the cellular level, which ultimately prevents delivery of oxygen to your tissues. In order for oxygen to be released from your blood you need to have enough CO2 to trigger this gas exchange. This is called the Bohr Effect. Improving your CO2 tolerance will improve oxygen delivery to your tissues, your overall circulation, and the end result will be better metabolic health. One KEY note, if you have a known breathing condition resulting in low oxygen levels do not do this exercise. Consult your medical professional before trying breathing exercises of this nature. ⏰ Timestamps ⏰ 00:00 Intro 01:16 Symptoms of a Fuel Deficit 03:58 Why Breath Training for Fuel? 05:26 Step 1: Grab An Assessment 06:54 Step 2: Bag Breathing 09:11 Why Bag Breathing? 11:19 Repeat Bag Breathing 12:19 Step 3: Reassess 13:17 Safety Considerations 14:44 Progressing Bag Breathing 15:50 How Does It Work? 17:38 Training Applications 19:03 Summary 19:37 Closing 👉🏻 Sign up for our free neuro masterclass: https://www.kruseelite.com/join-the-f... 🙏 Social Media 🙏 Instagram: / kruseelite 🎙️ The KRUSE ELITE Podcast 🎙️ https://www.kruseelite.com/podcasts/t... 🥇 Subscribe 🥇 / kruseelite 👋🏻 Hi, I’m Taylor Kruse, a strength & mobility coach who’s passionate about jiu jitsu and neuroscience.
