This video is about the real reason why people lose or gain weight. A lot of people say: I have a very slow metabolism, that’s why I gain weight! Well some people’s metabolism might be a little bit higher because of genetics, level of activity, muscle mass etc... so it's normal to have two people that are about the same size, eating the same food and doing the same things everyday, yet one gains weight and the other doesn’t. But in reality, everyone still has a good metabolism, as long as they are alive. If the energy you get from the food is more than what you need, your body will store the extra, and if it's less, your body will get the rest of the energy it needs from the storage. Now you might say: What about hormones? Specially insulin. We know that insulin makes you gain weight. You’re right! However, the release of insulin from beta cells is mostly caused by the food you eat. Insulin is, indeed, the most important hormone when it comes to energy storage. It makes you store energy! But which energy? From the food you eat! Insulin does not make fat from the air you breath. So the real question is not: Why do I gain weight? But rather why do I keep providing my body with excess amount of energy? When it has enough already. Well only you can answer that, but any diet that you try is good. Because most people who follow some type of diet will end up eating less. You can choose to eat less fat, or less carbs, or nothing, or become very active, or complain about the guidelines, the food industry, etc. You can do whatever you want. Just know that as long as you are providing your body with less energy than it needs, it will surely use the ones you have sitting around.
