Optional: Line bottoms with parchment paper. 2️⃣ Mix Dry In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. 3️⃣ Cream Butter & Sugar Beat butter and sugar 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy. 4️⃣ Add Eggs Add eggs one at a time. Mix in vanilla. 5️⃣ Combine Add dry ingredients alternating with milk: Flour → milk → flour → milk → flour. Mix just until combined (don’t overmix). 6️⃣ Bake Pour into pans. Bake: 25–30 minutes (round pans) 30–35 minutes (9x13) Toothpick should come out clean. 7️⃣ Cool Completely Let cool 10 minutes in pan. Transfer to rack and cool fully before frosting. --- 🍫 Rich Chocolate Buttercream Frosting Ingredients 1 cup unsalted butter (softened) 3 ½ cups powdered sugar ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder 2–4 tbsp milk 1 tsp vanilla extract Pinch of salt --- Instructions 1️⃣ Beat butter until smooth (1–2 minutes). 2️⃣ Add cocoa powder and mix well. 3️⃣ Add powdered sugar gradually. 4️⃣ Add vanilla and salt. 5️⃣ Add milk 1 tablespoon at a time until spreadable. 6️⃣ Beat 2–3 minutes until fluffy. --- 🎂 Assembly If using layers, place one layer down. Spread frosting evenly. Add top layer. Frost top and sides. Smooth with spatula (dip in warm water for clean finish). --- 🔥 Optional Flavor Boost (Holloway Kitchen Upgrade) If you want it a little elevated: Add 1 tsp espresso powder to the frosting (makes chocolate richer). Add ½ cup mini chocolate chips between layers. Drizzle melted chocolate over the top for a bold finish.
