Third movement from today's quad session. Focusing on placing maximum tension and stimulation on the quads here, tempo ensures controlled eccentric loading transitioning into a contraction just short of knee extension. Sit back with the hips on descent to load the quads eccentrically, then focus on remaining upright in the torso and drive the glutes diagonally up and into hip extension. Using this approach should ensure tension is maintained throughout the entire strength curve. To extend the set here, when nearing concentric failure, a long mini resistance band was looped around the torso to force 5 more repetitions out, maximising time under tension, and allowing a little more focus on eccentric loading with slower descents. The accommodating resistance will give you the most assistance in the hardest part of the movement, the lowest portion, then slowly ease as you transition into the contraction. This compliments the strength curve effectively.
