Today we bring you a story from the Mayflower Bocawina National Park in Stann Creek. In mid-September, the Association of Protected Areas Management Organizations (APAMO) announced that it has uncovered a major illegal logging operation in the national parks. Six men were arrested but only three were charged; the two major players escaped the clutches of the law. This information only came to light when APAMO issued its release, expressing concern that despites its advice, the logs were left at the barquedier where they were stolen.
