Sarah Clark joined us at the 2025 EDS ECHO Summit: Mental Health event to discuss Living with Autism and EDS. Sarah's presentation explores the intersection of autism and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) from both a lived experience and research perspective. Sarah shares her personal journey of navigating late diagnosis, highlighting the challenges autistic people with hypermobility conditions face in accessing timely and appropriate healthcare. Drawing on her current research, she discusses systemic barriers, diagnostic delays, and the impact on mental health, while also reflecting on embodiment, identity, and resilience. Sarah Clark is a lived experience Postgraduate Research Student and expert-by-experience autism trainer whose work focuses on reducing diagnostic delays for autistic people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD). Late-diagnosed autistic in adulthood and living with hEDS, Sarah combines academic expertise with lived experience to highlight the challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals with hypermobility conditions.
