Action from today, when two steam locomotives passed through Bristol Temple Meads, in conjunction with the Railway Touring Company's Great Britain XVII Railtour . Since 2007 The Railway Touring Company has operated the Great Britain Railtour over many parts of Great Britain, and today the inaugural leg of the 17th instalment started its Journey from London Victoria steam hauled by Merchant Navy Class No. 35028 'Clan Line', with 57314 'Conwy Castle' bringing up the rear! We start at Bath Road Bridge, by seeing Ian Riley’s LMS Black Five 45212 leading the 5Z89 light move from Southall WCR - St Philips Marsh HST, where it backs into the depot ahead of taking Day 2 to Wales. Hot on the heals of the Black 5, 35028 ‘Clan Line’ steamed in, bringing to a close the the first day of this 9 day marathon railtour around the country. She looked splendid as she made a stop, before being dragged off towards Bristol East Depot.
