Self Defense Techniques: In this episode Mr James of Charm City Karate demonstrates Obscure Wing, which is a Kenpo self defense technique for a close-in rear shoulder grab. Thanks to Mr Max for taking the whoopings! More on us here: www.charmcitykarate.com Twitter: @charmcitykarate Obscure Wing (flank left hand shoulder grab) 1. As opponent's left hand grabs your right shoulder, step to your right (to 4:30) as your drop into a horse. Simultaneously deliver a right back elbow to opponent's solar plexus as your left hand pins and checks opponent's left hand to your right shoulder. 2. Deliver a right back hammerfist to opponent's groin, and follow with a right hand grab to opponent's testicles. 3. Immediately follow with a right snapping obscure elbow to opponent's chin, making sure that your right arm follows the contour of his body. 4. Immediately shoot your right foot back (to 7:00) into a right reverse bow (to buckle opponent) as you deliver a right over the shoulder back knuckle to opponent's face, and your left hand slips behind his head to act as a brace. 5. Without hesitation, have your right hand grab the right side of your opponent's neck and jerk his head down as you deliver a right knee kick to opponent's face. Have your left hand assist in the process. 6. Plant your right foot slightly forward (to 12:00) into a shallow right neutral, as your left hand grabs the left side of opponent's neck, and immediately step back (to 6:00) with your left foot, jerk and flip opponent on his back. 7. Go into a left front crossover, and have your left foot sweep (to 12:00) across opponent's head and face. 8. Immediately hop into the air (counter clockwise) and as your left foot plants, deliver a right round kick to opponent's groin while he is still on his back. 9. Your right foot sweeps (to 6:00) across while striking jaw, face, and other parts of the head. Then your right foot ends in a right front twist. 10. Cover out twice.
