Rosé Petösy mit seiner Künstler-Kapelle vom Nelson-Theater, Berlin - O Bajadere! – Fox-Trott aus „Die Bajadere“ (E. Kálmán) Schallplatte Grammophon, 1922 (Germany) NOTE: Rosé PETÖSY (born Ernst Willi Rose in Berlin in 1893, died in Düsseldorf in 1967) was a German violinist and dance band leader. He was most popular in the early and mid-1920s, when he recorded for Grammophon Schallplatten under the pseudo-Hungarian pseudonym Rosé Petösy. Before 1920, his dance band performed at the fashionable Weinstube Kuttner in Berlin, then moved to Königsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia) and Vienna, where he performed until 1921. His orchestra then returned to Berlin to play at the fashionable Hölle-Bar and make dance recordings for Schalplatten Grammophon. This brought him fame, and his band was given a contract at Berlin's most prestigious cabaret, the Nelson Theater. Rosé Petösy remained there until the end of the Weimar Republic and continued to perform in Nazi Germany and during World War II. The slideshow presents women’s fashions in the early 1920s.
