From what I could gather: The RFX on the body stands for Richmond Foundry and Manufacturing Company. At the time, this company made dummy and training grenades during the late 50's-early 70'. (Referred to as M21’s) The fuse is a blue M228 training fuse. The M228 emits a tiny cloud of smoke when the pin is pulled. The best tellers between this and a real grenade are the poorly cast body with visible grind marks. The RFX markings, M228 fuze markings, as well as the hole at the bottom! These were also frequently sold as foreign made reproductions/replicas and are essentially good looking paper weights or a memorabilia display. If you want to restore your own, these can be had for cheap from military surplus stores. I simply found this one at a flea market. If you have any further insight please comment below!
