Hi, It's time to talk about the BIG GUNS in the membership...DNS and PRI They are how we define STABILITY. Core, breathing and human movement. Let's compare and contrast these 2 valuable models for stability. Firstly..... Both models agree on what OPTIMAL is. ✨ They BOTH want to get you to the SAME PLACE...what differs is how they get you there. 1) Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization DNS trains "optimal" to arrive at optimal. In DNS they want you to experience the basic building blocks of movement. Reconnect to neural engrams. This reminds your brain of the optimal patterns and gives you a "software update". You can learn more in your DNS chapter and will find influences from DNS in all of our classes. 2) The Postural Restoration Institute PRI trains BEYOND optimal to arrive at optimal. PRI identifies that we all have patterns and asymmetries. They strategically train the OPPOSITE pattern of where you are to "balance you out" and arrive at optimal. They expand areas that are compressed. Compress areas that are always expanded. They reposition joints and focus on inhibition and facilitation of muscle. So good at relieving tension and making you feel connected and strong. You can learn more in your PRI chapter. The models also agree on : ✅ the global pattern of movement ✅ the importance of awareness and sensory input to drive motor output ✅ the importance of joint positioning ( centration of joints) ✅ that distal support affects proximal stability I love both of these models equally and love blending them for your classes. ❤️ DNS & PRI If you have questions, send them my way! michelle :)
